Call for Applications, Associate Professorship or Lectureship at Division of Green Materials, EcoTopia Science Institute, Nagoya University, Japan

Division of Green Materials, EcoTopia Science Institute, Nagoya University invites applications for a faculty position at Associate Professor or Lecturer level. The division aims to solve problems related to the creation of new environment-friendly materials, the development of new material recycling, technologies, realization of materials processing with an ultra-low environmental impact, and the development of bio-affinitive materials. The division is conducting research on the creation, design, and processing of materials to realize a sustainable and sound material-recycling society.
  The selected applicant should conduct the research project described below.
  There are also features that EcoTopia Science Institute uses a fluid-system, which puts a time limit on each research project and optimizes both researchers and research subjects. EcoTopia Science Institute promotes interdisciplinary researches, which should be performed collaboratively with researchers in various academic fields within and outside Nagoya University. The selected applicant is also expected to work on such interdisciplinary researches.

Research Project Theme
The current project for the applications is “Research of an analytical technique for higher-order multiple functions generated by arrangement of atoms and molecules and its application for the advanced materials.”

Toward establishing the sustainable and sound resource-recycling society all over the world, the creation of various kinds of functional and environment-friendly nanomaterials is requested. For the achievement of this subject in the project, the candidates should perform the development of techniques and instruments for novel electron microscopy, and their applications to the functional and environment-friendly nanomaterials. The candidates are also requested to contribute to the development of the institute facility, High Voltage Electron Microscope Laboratory.

Position period 10 years (until March 31, 2025)
Requirements 1) Ph.D. or equivalent degree
2) Research record in accordance with the content of the research project
3) Ability of supervising graduate course students in the Graduate School of Engineering with faculty members of the departments related to applied physics
Starting date May 1, 2015 or the earliest possible date after May 1, 2015
Conditions of employment 1) Working hours and salary are based on the employment regulations of Nagoya University and the pay regulation of Nagoya University, respectively.
2) Mutual aid association, employment insurance, workers' accident compensation insurance are provided.

5) Reprints of no more than five major papers (Mark these papers by * in the publication list.)
6) Summary of previous researches (within 1000 words)
7) Other records on professional activities such as awards, research funds and invited lectures (The records of the research funds should include the names of the principal investigator as well as amounts in Japanese yen.)
8) Names and contact information of one or two persons from whom references can be obtained
